    Evening gents,

Not MK3 focus RS related but still an RS!

Currently fitting a YB cosworth in my MK2 RS2000. Needing a bit of help with fittings to go from block (205) to a standard RS2000 oil hose to dash guage. I am also fitting a pressure switch with light on the dash.

I will need a tee piece off the block to do this but I can only find ones that are 1/4″NPT male (into block) with 2 female ports on it. One port is 1/4″NPT (for oil switch) and one is 1/8″NPT. Not sure what the standard ford escort mk2 RS2k oil hose fitting/thread type is to be able to order an adaptor for it? I have the hose and is connected to dash guage so just need an adaptor really to go from 1/8″NPT to the RS2k oil hose.

    @Mexicoian
you have done a few conversions haven’t you?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

RS2000 oil hose (no idea what the fitting is on the end but I want to use it as it connects to the dash end. Don’t want to be ragging about with that changing fittings

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

The block takes 1/4″ npt which I already have.

As I am going to be running a guage and a light I need a tee piece. Will be getting an led behind the RS logo on the dash that will illuminate until the oil pressure is healthy/if the pressure drops low during driving.

    Cheers

No, I dont mean the engine block, I mean the adaptor block, put the t piece ‘adaptor’ in the engine then the  male/male adaptor in the t piece and the pressure pipe female thread on the male thread adaptor coming out of the t piece. i did the same thing back in 1983 with my Mk1  as it only has a gauge and no warning light. The oil pressure switch goes in the big thread at end of the t piece and you have the oil pipe coming out the side of the t adaptor

    Hi BDA,

Apologies I thought you meant engine block. What you have described is how I was going about it.

I thought I had cracked it when I found this fitting but it is not compatible with the MK2 hose end. I contacted Burton power a few days back and they confirmed this ☹️ (may work on a MK1 as the hose ends are different to a MK2).

I think I am on to something with a company called MLR who manufacture a hose with ends to fit both a tee piece and the standard guage fitting. Tried calling them but no answer. Will try again tomorrow.

    Cheers

Just seen the photos now, that’s exactly what I am doing but Burton threw me when they said it isn’t compatible.

If you get stuck, Think Automotive should be able to come up with an adaptor.
