If i use Cobb or anyone elses tune and reset it to standard before leaving the car to Ford for service, will they be able to see that i messed with the settings?

I wouldn’t think they could just for servicing, but maybe if you had a major warranty claim a forensic IT guy could go in and find evidence of fiddling !

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

Yes they can see any tune, the ecu has a flash counter.

    hmm , ok thank you.

I really want to get more power in the car but should maybe stay stock since the problems that poped up lately.

Warranty is gone in Sweden if i do ANYTHING to the car.

The Ecu doesn’t have a flash counter, but unless you backup the vehicles flash to reload later it will have a none Ford Original file ( m380 ) loads a mountune stock file back not your cars original file so it gets flagged when plugged into Dealers diagnostic.

Interesting question as I have the m380 tune but with everything going on with engine issues I’m not going to contemplate loading it to the car!

YES, Ford can tell by the counter no matter if you flashed back to stock or reset.

Still fun to see what words are used like “flash counter” 😀

There was a good thread about how they can see it. its the ignition counter. and my ECU never got reset and was flashed, stock, flashed and stock again for service. had warranty work to do. no problems. IGN counter still never zeroed. but this will also zero when unplug battery long enough.

So far I did not had the HG replacement and pressure test. so I do not think they really will search for a tune because at the moment FORD better is quiet and fix the MK3 of everyone. So that’s why I still run my tune every day and not worried about warranty. Send in to my good friends workshop from Ford. All fixed and car is back. I would never bring in my RS to a random Ford dealer with maybe Sherlock Holmes Mechanics that are forced to decline any warranty work of every customer if you understand me.

HG replacements are to be done regardless of modifications.

… so Ford have said in their literature to the workshops

As per Chris Preston all handsets remove the modified map and replace the standard (original) map to the ECU apart from Mountune; who put their own stock file on the handset which is then placed on the car as a standard map, which then red flags at service / warranty time.

With the COBB or ALL others you will be safer but not guaranteed 100%

As for the cycle reset this is easily explained as a battery disconnect

    RS Edition.

    FPM375 Rocks

The rest of the “M” maps suck
