Cold Air Intake (closed lid) vs More Air (open lid)?

I Did some logs yesterday, but I am not shure, how to interpretate.
Did pulls in 3rd and 4th gear.
    And cruisin at 120kph.
Temperatures at constant 120kph are pretty much the same.

One setup: With complete closed Airbox (K&N housing), Filter with plug, sucking air through the velossa Big mouth.

The other setup with the same K&N Filter (without the plug) and the “open” stock lid (which is also open at the front of the lid)

(Trying to get the pictures attached…)

Sorry for the number of post, I wasn’t able to attach more than one picture…

Is there something that can be logged that says where the air mass is bigger, or where the turbo / motor doesn’t have to work as hard?

    Yeah, much theoretical stuff.

    interesting Video

But, I’ll try to find the correct data to log, just to test it on the road and see, which setup is better.
I’m shure the ECU hast this data, but, yes, to technical šŸ˜‰

I tested vacuum in my moded 3″ Ram-Air intake.

    3″ straight into the moded K&N Filter….

Tested the closed K&N lid with K&N Filter including plug. >> nearly -0,2bar vacuum

Then without plug. >> less vacuum, maybe arround -0,16 or -0,17bar

    Then with stock lid.Ā  >> arround -0,1bar

So, the intake ist still a little bit restrictive, maybe without any filter housing it would be even better.

Press the clutch @200kph, the velossa gave a little “boost”, maybe 0,025bar into the fully seald intake.

I guess the cold air from the velossa will help while cuising.

But only the air through the Velossa isn’t enough.

btw. tested in 3rd and 4th gear, similar results.

    boost
