No criticism here Pat, awesome build mate. Better to over engineer than under that’s for sure. Do you just use it as a weekend fun car?

Well done Pat the RS is yours to develop as you see fit, all the better for rising to the challenge and opportunity.

I have total admiration for you as the guinea pig on development for this project, all the highs with the occasional lows.

Have a great time when it comes together and is finished

Fair play to you Pat,It,s all about doing what you want-remember Ford built the Mk1 esort with 1100cc ohv and did,nt stop until they fitted a 1600,1800 and 2 litre engine trebling the bhp of the original,If they had,nt played around and created the RS brand we would,nt be here and cars would be standard and boring

Well impressed and I applaud the route you have taken.

Once you have it back can you gives an update on how such a powerful Mk3 drives and I guess it’ll pull like the proverbial train.

Nice if it holds together for a while!  I Still think you cant beat a 900 kilo Escort though for drama, chuckability, predictability on the limit, the sound etc etc …

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

11/10 ? Great fun. My old Cortina is as far as I got but that was great fun. Would have loved to have rallied something like that.

Once again….thanks guys…..my home is littered with models of Mk1 and Mk2’s in various livery so I’m with you on that and I live literally yards (or meters for our younger viewers) from one of the country’s main builder of of the old girls

my ideal sound of a 4 pot would have been the rasping sound of full spec BDA but we’ve moved on now and I wanted to push the boat out with a car that didn’t steam up, started in the morning without nursing a choke connected to twin Side draughts and had a heater that worked and a rear demister that didn’t fall off…….Our senior members know the struggles

I still seem unable to load photos and videos on here…….posts will
