A mate of mine arranged it as a local group, not just fords, think there are 25 of us going, there is one other mk3 which is standard going, be interesting to see a comparison between the two, I’ll post figures as soon as I have them kenny?

Be interesting to see what your car achieves on the dyno.A few of us done this around a month

ago. There was 3 Focus Rs’s,2 with DS and 1 with Mountune.None of them achieved the figures

that was expected. With the DS the cars only made the standardish power.

Mine made 343HP and 353ftlb torque.Must say that the car feels a lot quicker on the road than

the above figures from the dyno day.Have a good day.

Something not right there. There’s people like markcup on YouTube who is totally standard and his car dynoed at 347 at the crank

Something wrong with their dyno? Those figures seem ridiculously low

Don’t think the dyno is at fault, m4 went after the awd’s which should of made 480 but actually made 520, only thing against us was the heat

Maybe that’s why they have never published any dyno figures before

I do think the way the airboxs are in these cars is a bit of a shit design and heat does get to them. Went out today a 35 mile journey but give it a blast most of the way there.

When I got to my destination i popped the bonnet and felt my filter and it was boiling so sucking in the hot air from the engine bay.  I think I’m gonna try and custom make some induction hoses to get in better air and close the front of the airbox off

Don’t get me wrong the car pulls like a train with the ultima map on there but after these results I’m gonna go a different route, think MSD is on the cards after recall work?

Why are people finding it hard to believe that these cars are only making standard figures with DS or Mountune.

This is the 4th car with similar mods i.e DS and Mountune on 2 different dyno’s that have made similar figures.

I believe without supporting mods these cars are 320bhp at best. With the mods they are a cracking car with good power.

I agree with billy the car feels like a 300 bhp car out the box but after my mods below only feels like a 350bhp car think it has a lot to do with the weight of the car.

    @crocket81

I have used MSD in Blackpool a few times over the years.I have found them to be exceptional.

The last time I used them was last year, with my Fiesta St.It had Big turbo, big cooler,ITG,de-cat

full exhaust but was only running 280 with the first map. After MSD installed their map it was

    running 313bhp and 375 torque.

I put the DS on for the same reason as you,5 year warranty and the recall.

I do have to say that focus Rs does feel exceptional in the real world.

Could even possibly be round 360/370bhp out on the road. There is a guy from Cams performance Blackburn

who tuned my Subaru on the road,I may ask him to take it out and see what he says.

Don’t know if he does Fords though.

my std car feels like a 350bhp car in the winter, and today at 27’C feels like its 10% down. Am I bothered? Nay.

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?
