If it could read and save my m400 map I would give it a try and compare them

This is the latest tune file and specifically designed for upgraded down pipe at 3″ with sports cat, plus the addittion of a Cold Air Intake (CAIS) and most definately running Shell V power or Tesco Momentum ONLY! Our test car ran the standard intercooler for this test and performed adequately, although a larger intercooler is always going to be better. The test car used for this map creation is different to the one used to make our previous files. Our original test car was a 16 plate and ran 347Bhp stock, our 66 plate test car only ran 321Bhp stock. This being said the termianal peak figures on all maps including stock are lower, however the relative increments are where we want them to be having run through all our maps. This map is included free on the iMap and can also be downloaded for free by existing customers. Our new DS-Ultima-2 tune file gave an increase of 26Bhp throughout most of the rev range above 2500rpm and just over 31FtLb of torque more than DS-Ultima, the overall top performing run was 390Bhp and 435FtLb of torque. This map has many built in safety functions which are thermally integrated, the map produces it’s full potential only after the oil temperature is in the normal operating range. The Mil light will not come on for de cat or sports cat and to get best acceleration we recommend Sports mode with the traction turned off. As if this isn’t enough we are also adding DS-ULTIMA-2+ to the upgrade server very soon which offers even more mid range torque and power for those who want even more, this will be a free upgrade too and best suited to 3″ downpipe, intercooler and cold air intake with V Power fuel.

Thats really odd as the runs are almost identical to stock.

I ran mine stock at Surry Rolling Road on fresh BP Ultimate and got 344.3HP and 321lbft (ex Over boost) and that was pre head gasket change.

Since the head gasket change its felt just as fit as the day I had her on the Dyno but after adding the Ultima Map the boost at 2500rpm jumps like never before with the gauge nudging max ( it stuggled to get past half way previously) and the sensation is that it pins you in the seat! 2nd – 3rd – 4th – 5th and even 6th now has it romping away. In first the rear is engaging and slithering way more than before as I take off on roundabouts.

I cant say for sure as I dont have the data but I’ll run the car again at Surry Rolling Road and post the two maps so we can all see.

The seat of my pants says that there is HUGE improvment so I’m not sure whats going on with your car craigc34

    Hi,

Is someone here running the Ultima2 map (not 2+) in combination with only an airtec intercooler (not sportscat)? How is the response of the turbo? Are there no lags fron 1500-2500 rpm. Is ultima2 with airtec a good combination?

    Best regards

Grethch : I run Ultima 2 and stock intercooler and stock cat. only cat back exhaust and airfilter. blanking plate on aircooler removed.

next step will be aircooler, intercooler, boost pipes and hoses, engine mount.

The downpipe with sports cat is still in progress due to regulations in Switzerland to stay street legal but prices for same piece of metal with a paper is extrem compared when I order it directly in the UK.

Map is running great. an aircooler is never wrong and thats my next step as written above.

Ford Focus RS / frozen white / fifteen52 tarmac / lowering springs kw / milltek exhaust / exhaust valve deleter / K&N airfilter / Maxton rear upper spoiler / Mishimoto oil cooler / Auto specialist 40% short shifter /

My experience with rolling roads when the figures are down , is there normally something not right last 2 I can remember was actuator on my mk2 and before that boost leak on my evo , did the operator not comment on it ?

Has anyone else noticed a short sharp whistling noise between 2-3k revs when the turbo is spooling after applying the ultima map?

I’ve installed it on my MK3 and the noise lasts around 1-2 seconds when the turbo spools up then disappears through the rev range, it isnt the normal hissing induction noise, more like a kettle at full boil.

The car doesnt make the noise if I reapply the stock map.

Other mods are mountune induction kit, re-circ valve and SSC

Your noise is probably the extra boost pressure passing through the turbo causing a slight whistle or flutter/compressor surge. Compare the boost reading on your gauge against stock and you should see quite a difference.

It’s probably just a byproduct of the additional boost causing this. At those RPM the car can’t consume the air being forced through the system so it causes a small amount of compressor stall.

Sometimes a tuned car will do this at 3/4 throttle at low rpm but not full throttle because the partly open throttle is causing the boost pressure to back up and stall the compressor.

It’s all a compromise/balance to achieve the best torque figure in the most efficient and safest manner.

My other car (modified Impreza) flutters quite bad at part throttle and has been doing so for 12 years.

My previous Stg2 Cupra also did it on spool but it was a very aggressive spool, demanding alot of initial boost. Great fun though, if a little hard to deploy with FWD.
