    @turbo, sales will be affected I’m sure the high cost to buy and now being road tax will make people think twice about buying one. The other side of that is current petrol/diesel cars will become targets for those who can’t afford or just steal one for parts.

    @John, not 100% sure but many vehicle producers will only be producing hybrid and electric cars by then, with electric being the only one production by 2030

    Exactly, by 2025 we may have a new government, all smoke and mirrors when have you seen a political party with a long term plan. And freezing personal allowances for five years means every tax payer will be contributing £500 extra in tax by stealth.

    It won’t affect sales, if you can afford the new cost of an EV then a few quid on road tax won’t matter. Plus the alternative would have been an ICE which would have been taxed anyway.
