My order is Black with circuit pack. Same reason as 9 designs less than 10% are black orders 82% are a version of white.

Coast, you should buy what colour you like, not which is the least popular/most unliked !  I mean, with that logic you should be in a stealth grey RS with std seats and silver wheels and no lux pack ( clear back windows etc) if you are going for rarity in the hope of keeping up the residual value! Red is going to be rarer than black I would think, but also that means it wont be wanted years down the line either, so reds wont hold their value or desirability. Hearing aid beige RS2000MK2 are rare,, were rare new, everyone hated them, and now that rarity does not equate into a higher price, it just means its harder to sell and probably worth less than an equivalent condition and spec normal colour Escort RS. My mate who sells them has told me he has lots of folk changing their orders from Black to white. I think maybe even the solid non pearl white could be a looker, nice and sharp against the black plastic bits and black rims etc compared to the creamy pearl.

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

You’re right should order the colour you like, which is why I ordered black. I had a black E85 Z4 looked superb. Wife has a white 1 series, it never looks clean and when cleaned and polished it doesn’t look the effort you’re put into it.  I’m tempted to ceramic coat it so I can just throw a bucket of water over it and save hours of pointless cleaning 😝.

Magnetic grey at the start was one of the rare RS colours, certainly when I got mine in 2016. I parked up at the RSOC national day on the display for the first showing of the Mk3, I was next to the police livery car.  The amount of people who stopped by having only seen NB and comment how good it looked, some saying they were going to change their order. In the end MG is the second most popular colour I believe.

I think there will be a late run of black GRY as people see more about.  The key feature is the circuit pack, you won’t be able to sell non circuit versions easily, already some have tried to flip them and they don’t sell, where as circuit pack ones will sell for several grand over list, for now.

I did order the colour I wanted, I heard if you changed your order you went to the back of the que, orders now are give as delivery in November/December. And it will be a daily don’t expect it to be an investment what car is in short term. I feel some negativity on this forum about the GRYaris all I say to anyone prepared to knock this car is you really need to drive it. It’s a proper piece of kit.

PS I did order a Stealth Grey RS but changed my order three times in the 13 month wait for it to arrive.

nice. I was one of the first on here singing its praises Coast I know it is a fun little pocket rocket but I do not like 3 cyl engines , their sound or their uneveness, Ive just put off ordering one, took a step back, had a deep breath, calmed down from all the online hype and realised I can do without one, maybe IF they were to announce a special edition next year, then I may reconsider. Until then, its still a Caterham BDG I’m after for fun, not another baby Focus RS , Ive got enough 200bhp/tonne cars, I want a 500BHP/tonne car and I do not want a 750bhp 1500 kilo lump, I want a 300BHP 600 kilo go kart !

I’ve tought myself to think of a 3 cylinder as half a straight six 😉…

I first cringed at the site of a 3 cyl in a car when I saw an uncle with a Wartburg Knight back in early 1970s. To me a 3 cylinder is simply an exercise in cost savings, an attempt at fuel economy through reducing internal friction and having a light compact engine, its not about power or seeking a characterful engine. If Toyota had made a V6 1600cc engine then that would be a thing of beauty and character !

I guess 3 cylinder was also a weight reduction benefit as well. Seem Toyota has gone to some lengths to get the weight down, unlike our RS… LOL ….  here’s a thought Ford on their  3 cylinder still applies Cylinder delete running for economy, so now it’s a 2 cylinder on light load 😳😳😳

having driven one I can honestly say it’s a great car and on a pcp for 269 a month for 3 years with 30 percent down I think it was at zero apr for 10k miles it’s also a great deal for a fun new car if you buy cars that route then pay the balance or give back. I pay 200 for a 1.0 fiesta as a daily school run and boring motorway runs for work and for the extra 70 quid would swap instantly but the Yaris don’t have back doors and a small boot so for that reason it don’t work for me but I still think it’s a great car. Would never replace my RS tho as I brought the RS not for being a technical genius or fastest but because I’m a Ford fan and always wanted one but truth is it’s getting old and the younger kids like all things In life are smarter and faster then those that come before.

apples vs apples comparison they are not, but if you have the money to have both your getting pretty much everything in life you can at these price points and hats of to you all 🙂

GRY test drive booked in for Monday, might take the RS to the dealers so I can do a back to back drive comparison.

Having read so many reviews now not sure what to expect or how it will strike me. It’s been hyped up so much it almost feels like I may have a disappointment waiting for me.  Plan on doing a trip back home with it and a few local roads and back. The route is one I do for work as I drive past the dealer ship, in Coventry.  Mix of a really bumpy road, B roads, motorway and dual carriageway. Will only have for an hour or a little over.  Plan to see how engaging it is at lower sensible speeds rather just hoon it…. on the way back I have few nice bends the RS is epic on so sure I’ll give a little push 😉
