    Can you damage your engine by putting to much oil in ?

    It depends on the extent of the over fill

    @daniel stewart,too much oil can cause excess crankcase pressure which can blow oil seals,also overheating problems,the engine will smoke heavily as it tries to get rid of the excess oil ,so drain it off or suck the oil out asap,as above it depends how much it,s overfull the max mark on the dipstick is there for a reason.

    Someone used the top of a soap bottle to remove excess oil. Check one of the recennt oil threads on here

    Dealer over filled my oil !
