forged wheel colour?

hi when buying my rs i went for the standard wheels rather than forged simply because i prefer the design however i prefer the colour of the forged wheels ( i know there is no pleasing some lol ) so i was wondering if any1 on here knows the paint colour of the forged wheel as dont want any old finish on the wheels when i get them powder coated. thanks

Few guys have done the multispoke standard wheels the dark grey finish which looks good

hi there, I’ve got the standard wheels but keep looking at the launch pics of the grey wheels, apparently in Europe the grey are an optional extra, I’ve google the part number 1937379 and found them at Jennings ford Middlesbrough. Take a look I think the magnetite colour looks real good.

So you can order these in the UK from the dealer but can’t get them standard with the car… strange!

I presume the alloys in the photo are painted grey and not the optional magnetite.

Kenny, I presume you don’t have a contact for Elgan who originally posted the pics to you on 16 April. I phoned one of two wheel specialist centres in Wales who were very helpful who suggested it maybe charcoal / anthracite but as they record details by customer rather than reg they couldn’t confirm. I might try Swansea branch as I note the CV reg is Swansea.

Yes please. I phoned the wheel specialist, swansea but they have over 8000 variations to choose from. I sent them the photo but they can’t confirm due to the image quality of the colour what colour it is for sure.

David, got an answer from Elgan. See if this helps:

Now as for the colour I THINK it was Vauxhall technical grey on the colour chip. Wheels were done at the wheel specialist Swansea.

I’m in the motor trade myself, and have sold any number of technical grey Astras, insignias, corsas etc… And to be honest I wouldn’t have said the colour they came back looks the same as on the car. That’s not to say I wasn’t happy, I was really pleased with the final article and the colour. Infact I have a tech grey insignia on the forecourt. If I remember tomorrow i will send you a few pics on here and perhaps you could forward them on.

Maybe pop into your local Vauxhall dealer for a look at the colour.

Mark was the guys name in wheel specialist by the way. I’m sure if the chap who wants them done gives mark the job, he will remember what colour they are lol! My wheels were a gloss finish too. Unlike the matt/satin on the forged wheels

Please thank Elgan for his comments. Have been in contact (messenger) with Mark at the  Swansea branch. Thought it might have been charcoal / anthracite and he sent me photo which is more of a black. I have just messaged him with regards recent correspondence from yourself and Elgan to see whether he remembers the job. Mark stated always difficult to guage colour from photos against seeing it in person. Will keep you posted. Wheel Specialist been very helpful through messenger and email even though office is closed. St Albans or Farnborough will be my nearest branches.
