Finally I got around to A: cutting in the vents and B: getting it all painted. Got the car back today and I must say I think it looks tasty !

Not everyone’s taste and 8 wouldn’t expect it to be but I’m loving it.

The vents add that mean look and the extension cleans up the windscreen wiper area. You can no longer see them ?

The paint shop did a good job though their polishing skills leave a lot to be desired! Will need to book in for correction and ceramic.

Now need to store the original bonnet safely until I’ve decided what I’m doing with the car.

    Here’s a peak…..

Can you post a close-up pic of the underside of the bonnet please…look the nuts and definitely needed, apart from cost, wonder why they weren’t standard?

NB 375, Goodrich hoses, RDU cooler (fitted for the hell of it), gas bonnet struts, Mountune RR, hard pipe kit, V1 cat-back….and RS seat covers!

@hitch, the bean counters said no. Initially there was a problem with excess water running onto the air box/filter, so the decision was made not to fit them.

Regarding the air filter I am going to need to protect it somehow. I think with something attached to the underside of the bonnet to direct the water away.

@hitch also if you don’t buy a new bonnet as I did the vents are only £60 or something or buy the finished ones. Mine were the cheapest and all dimpled but the paint shop rubbed them down and painted so now smooth.

You need balls of steel and plenty of measuring and marking before you make the cut. Once you start that’s it.

I’m still trying to work out whats parked next to the Fiat 500 !!

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

Nice collection! So is it the Mk1 or 2 next to the fiat? Looks more 1 than 2 to my untrained eye.
