Don’t currently use it but the 250 mile drive home was interesting.
The power and torque are so linear and  from about 3k until 7200rpm it’s producing max figures.
So the acceleration is so smooth and really rapid progress can be made. It now pulls off the speedo top end which is pretty quick top-end.  It really is a docile shopping trolley or plant your foot and it’s a track demon.
The tick-over is now 1000rpm due to the cams and these drive great.
I didn’t fit the Turbosmart WGA or the larger throttle body that’s for a later project on the car.I only have one map from an early map figures are WHP

Fuel rail is Mountune USA £160 cheaper than the UK version and I’ve used stubby injectors to remove and need for spacers or flex.

    Evening mate!!

Looking real good!! Loving your posts and your Meth set-up mate!!

You’ve been on quite a journey!! I remember commenting on some of your posts quite some time ago,……. When yir Spark Plug overheated and damaged your Turbo etc… if I remember correctly?? Mountune certainly seem tae have sorted you out though?? As far as taking responsibility for that!! I actually think that it was your car that made them re-think their M400 maps and bring out the M400R and M400X!!

Anyhoo, appreciate your posts and honesty and loving the thread mate!! ??.

    Cheers, Marc.

I have to say I have watched Nateodog and White-rs2 threads with a lot of interest and thanks for all the info, Mountune don’t seem to be the best what with reports of stuff failing and not working correctly, and bits hardly ever being in stock, also i have emailed them on occasions and had limited response.

I have also noted some threads on the other forum which are locked so i cant see, but there just seems to me  there’s an underlying discontent with them.

With that in mind I made initial contacted Devil yesterday and had a reply that was very informative, so now i have started ordering bits needed, will be booking into Devil after all this corona thing has died down.

    Its back !

    Next up we have head!

managed to pick up a head 4,000 miles old

plan is to polish and port it and gas flow it to see the benefit before fitting

paid £100 for the head minus cams so perfect for me!

    also another little side project

got the clutch out of the same car 4,000 miles with dual mass and clutch cover

tomorrow on the way to work I’m dropping it at friction services they want to look at it with a view to reliving the clutch plate with Hd material and to modify the clutch cover so it has better clamping force

they can also do ceramic clutches etc but like they say harder the material harder the clamping force softer the material more wear you get

reason for going down this route?

because the stock clutch is good so far and this new clutch is £130

and will have a better material so with a bit of luck itl turn out ok

The head mods will work very well with your cam set-up?

this is the HD material (heavy duty)

upon meeting the guys at friction services the cost to reline this clutch is actually £40!!!!!!

    if I want ceramic option it’s £65

mow everyday a a school day for me and I learnt something , il try to explain…

I didn’t know our clutches were already organic ?‍♂️ It’s just the material they use it’s called organic , anyway the round bits you see in some competition clutches (not the rivets) are actually ceramic buttons they are obviously a lot harder material but when using them you need a harder clamping force , unfortunately in this case I cannot upgrade my clutch plate as no parts are available as yet for it .

so for now il just make do with slightly better material.

if it works then great if it doesn’t well then il have to bite the bullet and get an ACT or something

but for the price this really is incredible if it works which it should .

the stock clutch has been absolutely fine and I his should be better

If this works awesome and a bargain to be had. If it doesn’t have a look at the RTS clutch kit basically the Mountune one without the yellow M, but sold by anyone.

Try A&K Motorsport and let them know you got his details off the Focus RS forum as their a sponsor of the site you’ll get discount from anywhere from 5% to 25%
