New F1 season.. more of the same ?

I was with some guys (through work) from Merc F1 yesterday and they seemed to be seriously concerned that they are some way from having a fast reliable car. They have lots of upgrades planned and seem to be concerned about the pace of Ferrari in pre-season.

merc say that every year but always mange to screw more power out of it and keep its reliability.

 

worked on one of there dtm cars and honestly it took everything we gave it and more flawlessly.

 

there cylinder blocks are a work of art internally but visually look like shit but it not all about appearance tho reliability is key.

That merc engine won’t be as bad as the honda. 170bhp down on the mercs. Still we should have a merc engine by Canada and the japs and redesign there ice

Definitely going to be interesting this year with new changes.

Melbourne usually has a safety car or two however doesn’t often provide for an exiting race (imo) .. very difficult to overtake at Albert Park.

Mercedes still evident favourites for Constructors but a strong start by Ferrari.

I still think Red Bull can and will be in the mix come perhaps midway through the season but quite disappointing so far… haven’t seemed to progress as much as people would have thought. New changes should have played in to their hands to be honest. But……! Only one race down. Plenty of time to work on the car.

Hamilton/Vettel/Verstappen 3 way fight for the title? Yes please!
