New RS Owner (hopefully) – Wanted MK3 RS

Hi everyone,

New member here. I’m looking to finally realise a life long goal which is to hopefully become the proud owner of a RS.

I have grown up loving fast fords with posters of Sierra and Escort Cosworth’s on my bedroom wall and driving around in an RS Turbo (which was the family car ) as a kid.

Anyway, enough of my drivel and thanks if you’re still reading this far along! 🙂

My budget at the moment is in the low 20’s. I know this seems very optimistic, especially with the way prices are going at the moment  but I thought I’d put a post up in the off chance someone may want a hassle free quick sale or simply just to know their pride and joy will be going to someone else who will cherish it.

I’m willing to consider any colour / spec combination, however my preference is Magnetic Grey, White or Nitrous Blue. Condition is more important than mileage to me. (Seems I just missed out on a nice looking car that was posted here recently) Sod’s law eh?

I am not interested in anything that has been involved in an accident / theft. Sorry had bad experiences in the past with that sort of thing.

Thanks again for reading my post and if you’re looking to sell your RS in the near future and think you could work with my budget of around 21-22k I would love to hear what you’ve got. 🙂

Hi and welcome, your budget will buy a car but don’t expect a mint low mileage example that will be the compromise.

Welcome to the forum,

As said above, your budget will get you into an RS, just a higher mileage one or one that needs a little TLC.

They are out there and as you mentioned you just missed out on a very straight, well looked after car which would have been slap bang in budget for you.

My tip would be not to jump at the first car that’s in budget. Be patient and get the right car 👍

Ye I know my budget is on the low side at the moment so my expectations are realistic.

I’m not in any massive rush though, so hopefully as I search my budget will keep increasing as I should be able to add to it each month. Ownership feels so close yet so far hehe! 🤣

As you say, the challenge will be not to get over excited and buy the first one that comes along! I’ll need to contain myself!

Hi GM, yes Wales originally. But now residing in Cornwall. Not sure what the RS scene is like down here, don’t really see many of them driving around but hopefully there’s a few groups I may be able join when I eventually get one. 😊
