    Hi all,

Greetings from sunny southern Spain. Had wanted an RS from pretty much when they launched, but because i work in Gibraltar you’re not allowed to get finance in Spain (or its near on impossible) so had to save pretty hard. Come the new year i started my mission to find the right one, Ford ES had completely sold out, luckily i found an unsold Edition in Germany and had it shipped here and put onto Spanish plates, sold my Honda S2000 (which was amazing out here) and never looked back. Picture below is after its maiden go up my favorite road.

    MY RS

I’ve been a blue oval guy for years now, im 36 now but have owned many. MK2 XR2, S2 Escort RS, Fiesta RS, Fiesta RS1800, a 1600 sport, RWD Saph Cossie, 2.8 Capri Special (bought for the Atlas axle & LSD).. and.. A Series X RS2000 which was a project i had for many years. Can bore you with a bit of spec and history of the car if you like and what its new owners have done since, but first, a feast for your eyes.

Welcome. very nice too. I bet that roof gets hot in the sun ? Lovely looking xpack too, but i have to deduct you many points for the 5 spoke alloys !! just a big no-no on a MK1 or 2 escort! Bottom pic makes up for it with minilites , although I will have to dock you a few more points for having a vtec in it innit!!

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

@71-bda The roof doesn’t get that bad to be fair although the temps have shot up this last week or so, so there’s still time. As for the 5 spokes, i always thought they looked great on the xpack, great fit too once i put the atlas back end on it which pushed them out an inch and filled the arches, 8x15s on the back and 7s up front. I eventually sold the car and it went to cross roads subaru who put the F20c engine in it, it appeared in a article Pistonheads did when the Subaru BRZ launched, and most of the people commented about the RS and not the Subaru, to be fair to them although i was horrified at first, i had a S2000 up until recently and its a decent engine to be fair. But it was no 2.1 pinto on twin 44IDF’s, group 1 head and cam, 2 1/2″ 4 branch and single box system haha.

    – the spanish roads can be awesome, like fast tarmac rally stages, but in the town, no one knows how to take a roundabout properly or let you on/off a slip road. Which is never good.
