Checked the oil last week, about halfway on the stick, topped up to just below the mark, have done about 500 miles since. Noticed yesterday a bit of oil on the drive, drive is long enough for two cars, first part is a bit of a slope, other part is flat and that’s where I normally park, last couple of days I have parked on the slope.
Checked the oil, nothing on the stick, put a litre and a half in and it’s about way up the stick. No warning light and no strange noises, see picture and that’s after an hour or so with the engine off. If your looking at the front of the car it seems to be dripping from the back of the engine on the right, had a good look from the top, can’t see anything, can’t see underneath other than from the back and looking forward no sign of oil sprayed underneath the car.

Anybody got any ideas or had it happen to them ?

you got the undertray on the car? it must be full if you have.

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

Yes, undertray is on, think it’s running out of the back of it but can’t see where it’s coming from.

Got the car back and it was the oil filter leaking, they don’t know why it started no visible damage, so will keep an eye on it and if there’s still a leak they said bring it back. They have had it all day and no oil has come out so hopefully sorted, they have cleaned the undertray as best they can.

After all that time it’s lost its grip I reckon. Please don’t do 15k again on your oil 🤣

I have always experienced the opposite; you hand tighten the filter and need much more force to remove it after its been on a while.
