    Can any one tell be what the amount of oil  is required  to go from bottom of crosshatch to the  top of ??

    ie low to full

    Most of a litre.

    I was guessing it was around a litre but wondered if there was a precise amount can’t see anything in the rs manual supplement

    Just check on the FMC website and apparently its 0.85ltr min to max.

    From the FMC RS page

    Quantity
    0.22 gal (.85 L)

    The quantity of engine oil required to raise the indicated level on the dipstick from minimum to maximum.
