    What’s a good replacement battery

Exide batteries were always good quality but I think they only offer a 3 year guarantee, whereas Halfords offer 5 years.

The genuine Ford batteries used in the RS are made by VARTA.

I need a new battery myself but it’s either the Bosch or the Varta for me I think.

When you see what Ford want to charge you for a battery you’ll be looking elsewhere, plus I think Ford only give you 1 year warranty.

Interesting bit of information, I was told that both the Varta and Bosch batteries are manufactured in the same factory. Don’t think there’s much to choose between the two, probably the one with the longest warranty.

i dont know if ford used different batteries but the one i replaced in my red edition was a 70AH 700A H6 which is different to the one pictured,i tried the halfords one which is the only one they do and it was too long and not as tall so the clamp didnt actually do anything so ended up with a varta
