Hi guys I am a new member on here having bought a second hand RS almost 7 weeks ago, well I got woke up this morning by the police who told me my beloved RS had been stolen but the real kicker is the car was at a Ford dealer when it was stolen.

i dropped the car off at Cupar Ford here in Scotland yesterday morning so they could rectify a fault on the car. The RS was put inside the dealers garage overnight but it was stolen after the garage was broken into. They must have cloned the key as Ford still have the key I gave them.

I am devastated as it was the car of my dreams and I never ever imagined I would be able to afford to own one but after making a lot of sacrifices I at last managed to.

I would be gutted too, sorry for your loss , “bastards”, surely the dealer has to replace it through there insurance?

As they were responsible for your RS while it was in there garage…?

    One of my worries ?

Then they try to play the “you left your vehicle here at your own risk” card ??

Yeah Phil I’ve been thinking the same but surely Ford won’t want the bad publicity, they didn’t have signs up at the dealer saying left at own risk that I could see and I wasn’t told of that when I dropped the car off.

I need to have a bumper scuff painted but because of the colour my preferred place want it for a day which for me means over night so I’m reluctant. I’ve had a quote from Revive to do it on my drive which is the same cost but they’ve not commented on the “difficulty” of the colour ??

@Steve, if you do get another one, if the insurance pays out get the Ghost System fitted asap. Hope you can get it sorted quickly

Cheers bobcat to be honest my experience with Ford has been soured lately with the attitude of their employees and the problems I’ve had with the RS, which is a pity as I’ve had Fords for years going back to the escort to st’s and the RS. I think I’ll be looking at other brands from now on.

If the Ford garage is insured to drive it, it’s insured.

You should suggest they simply replaced it like for like or an improved spec.

Have you still a courtesy car ??

Yes I have had a courtesy car since the RS was dropped off yesterday morning, they told me this morning I can keep it for a couple of days more.

What gets me is the manager of the dealership hasn’t even phoned me to apologise for my car being stolen while in their care! Just another reason for moving away from Ford.

There are bad dealerships (don’t care) there are good ones (do what they have to) and there are very good ones (they go the extra mile), I have found over the years you just have to find the very good one. Sadly it’s not just Ford dealerships, there are good and bad other manufacturers dealers too.
