Scorpion sports cat

Hi all,

Can’t remember if I’ve read it on here, another forum of whether I’ve made it up.  I’m having a scorpion sports cat fitted to compliment my scorpion exhaust system, did someone have an issue with it throwing up an EML after fitting?

No I don’t think you made it up.

Some will argue it does others will say it doesn’t. My understanding is it is best to be prepared for it to throw a light. If it doesn’t then great!

I keep thinking about getting one to compliment my Milltek system

If you have a map it shouldn’t throw a light. If it’s on the standard map then it’s hit and miss. Some do some don’t. Make sure also you get a new gasket for the turbo to cat. Your old one will be wrecked.

@smudger. I have a Scorpion sports cat and miltek system. Sounds great to most apart from the wife who hates it.

What turbo-tone said, make sure you get the new gasket and studs as they will be knackered. GM on here did post the part numbers I think in one of the other threads

I have the full scorpion turbo back and I would strongly advise you buy an exhaust flap control unit. As for throwing up a light mine was fine, although it was factored in to the hardware list for my multi maps

I have the FPM375 at the moment and was debating going to either CP420 or M400 this year

If anyone has the part number for the gasket and studs that would be appreciated

Not to hijack the thread but I saw on FB that a RS got pulled over on New Year’s Day due to a loud exhaust ( owner are you on here, thetford? ) apparently there now a new law or more enforcement on old law about how many DB an exhaust is (85 I think) turned out the owner got a fine and a ticket.

anyone know what Db after market exhausts are and what changing to sports cat affects the DB? I have mountune v3 and never had issues at track days so found it odd thing to get ticket for?

I am pretty sure mine would be too loud with the flap open, but that is the beauty of the controller, especially at mot time if the old law is going to be enforced.

In relation to the gasket and bolts, I just bought them from Ford, quite cheap as I remember, certainly under £20 for the gasket and bolts.

I’d be interested in the ops thoughts on the scorpion sports cat as I have a scorpion cat back and think the sports cat would be a nice touch 😁
