Hi, new to the forum. I am buying my brothers RS soon and can hardly wait! He has barely used it and has kept it locked away. It has no extra security. I am going to get the disklok bundle and pouch but wondering what would be the best alarm/immobiliser to get? Also, are genuine floor mats available?

    Thanks

    Welcome πŸ‘

Defo Ghost immobiliser in addition. I’ve been surprised by the number of thefts since owning one and wouldn’t have thought about it but glad mine came with one.Β  It’s not an expensive layout for peace of mind πŸ˜‰

    As already been said above…

    1) Ghost is a must.

    2) Faraday Pouch to stop Key scanning.

    3) Disklok for a visual deterrent.

Welcome mate, I’ve got steering wheel and two types of wheel locks, ghost2 immobiliser, and a monitored tracker also turning off keyless entry is a good idea, bit of a costly investment but worth it for the peace of mind

secure your keys in a faraday pouch or metal tin

    Welcome to the forum @Leighton

Several layers of security is always good, some visible some not. As others have said do something before it’s too late.

    Enjoy your RS. πŸ‘

Ghost and a disk lock on mine also – ask your technician about blocking the key replication from the odb2 port, as mine claimed he had done that also…

Cheers for all the replies, looks like ghost for me thenπŸ‘πŸ»

Are the side skirts easy enough to remove? I want to give it a full clean and wax treatment underneath.

    Thanks

Ghost,,Disclock,,Faraday pouch,,& don’t forget,,,,always park with car in full lock so they can’t pull it onto trailer or recovery truck.

Hi & welcome big yes to all above , if your really paranoid go for clutch/brake πŸ” or gear and handbrake πŸ”’, all visible deterrent, but agree with above keep it in a garage if got one , and keep steering wheel in full lock , these thieving barstools will have it away any chance . Keep safe πŸ‘πŸ‘& good luck .

All great advice above. I have ghost, tracker, disclock and dummy OBD. All good peace of mind. I think all the ones I’ve seen stolen are parked overnight in the road/drive. If you are parking in the garage or outside, it’s good advice to make your home secure too. So many victims of car crime have their house broken into to just get keys.

Don’t want to sound downbeat here just food for thought.

    Enjoy that RS!!!

Hopefully these attachment works, this happened at 8pm while I was at work.Β  The tw@ts came on to my drive, checked the window for movement or keys, tried the front door then because our lass got a ping on her phone she realised what was going on and hammered on the window………..They were more interested in trying the door of the old focus………
