Skoda Vision RS concept previews Golf and Focus rival
New Rapid, due next year, is previewed by a 242bhp plug-in hybrid concept

Skoda has set the stage for its forthcoming Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus rival with the Vision RS, a concept car that features a performance plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain.

Under the sporty details and concept flourishes, the Vision RS is close to how next year’s Rapid hatchback will look.The fact that it has been previewed in vRS form, complete with 242bhp PHEV powertrain, shows how much further upmarket the new Rapid will go compared with the current value-led model.

Looks to close to SEAT Leon styling, aren’t the two brands at risk of stealing from each other ?   That said the LCR has got very safe and boring looking of late.  Said as a Cupra fan/owner of old.

Cant see that grill making production unless your ok in slicing and dicing pedestrians as you hit them 🙂

242bhp for a petrol electric seems a tad poor compared to the future planed hot hatches such as the future Ford Focus RS 400 & ST 300

Don’t these 4 manufactures all use the same platform per sector Seat, Skoda, Audi & VW with just fresh outer skin metal as their defining mode.

Just economics, like the Vauxhall Adam, Fiat500, Ford KA and that other one I cant remember
