Sorry, don’t know but I do hear people complaining about the variance in subwoofer performance following software updates during the service.

Initially, when the 66 plates came out, apparently the Sub was really quiet and seemed to be out of sync with the other speakers. 2017 service update sorted but some have said that its gone back the same after this years update. A friend of a friend ripped his out and put an alpine unit in so I bought one too anyway but haven’t felt the need to fit it yet.

There was an issue with early cars. Get the garage to have a look

    Details are:

3824 – Focus ST/RS poor sound distribution/quiet sound from rear speakers

If a customer complains that the soud is coming mainly from front speakers and the rear speakers are too quiet, be informed that an improved Audio Control Module software is now released. Note that this update affects Sony Premium Audio System on ST/RS only. Please use SBD for guided diagnostic. Please choose the following symptom. Customer comfort and entertainment -> Audio -> Soundoutput -> speakers -> Poor quality/distorted sound from one or more speakers (not all).
