It’s me again to give you some facts about the Tesla M3P.
Ok I’ve had five years practising the launch control on my RS and now I don’t bother. I memorized the sequence of buttons whilst my eyes were on the traffic lights. I trusted the car to do it’s business. But maybe I had too much mechanical sympathy. So now I just drop the clutch early ish and power off.

    now the Tesla.
    no buttons.
    no prep.
    any mode.
You are sitting there calmly. then….
Mash the throttle for 1 second and you are gone. Lift quickly in a 30 zone.
    As 0-30 in 1.5 Sec.
no worries over clutch bite  or engine  temp or controlling wheel spin in the wet.
acceleration is still allowed while high speed can lose your licence.
    so all completely legal.
    thank you Mr Musk.
    Oh and passengers can’t cope.
You can advise them all you like.
so it’s a case of getting them used to the violence steadily whilst driving.
Even then most feel sick on a launch.

    better than a fun fair?

I guess if 0-60 fast times floats your boat then a Tesla for ease of achieving that o-60 time will suit a lot of folk, just not me Kris ! Im strictly oldskool, noise, 1000kilo car, and corners. Here is a picture of me when my mate first took me out in his Tesla S a few years back..

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

Theres more to life than 0-30 and 0-60 and having no one race you because they know there is no point racing a Tesla off the lights, so.. go for sound, and corners instead while there is still petrol to burn  !

Like any extreme driving whether it be in a petrol diesel or electric all generate more heat and unless managed can cause problems.

It’s not called a launch by Tesla. It’s part of normal driving.  There is no limit or power drop.

I will go for a max number 0-30 in one minute tomorrow  😄

on track, with 4 long mashes in one minute, and high speeds,  it is equal to the RS  in times

Its about as exciting as playing with the trigger of an electric drill Marshall !!

Kris be careful you don’t overheat the batteries, all that fast heavy discharging does not do them any good long term-wise, either for power output or range!

    I’m hijacking the thread.
I spent 30 mins in a queue for fuel for the RS. Essential user as got a trackday  Monday.
now I’m waiting 11 hours to refuel the Tesla. Guess I’ll sleep on it ?

wow ! 11 hours? see to me thats like selfish people when there is a drought on and insist on watering their grass everynight, that sprinkler just pissing water away, or the type that has a swimming pool or hot tub with a hose on all night filling it up for for a few hours use, then drain it all away, what a waste! Imagine a million teslas all on charge at the same time for 11 hours ! I don’t think they have thought electric cars out properly, all its done is make old Musky nutter seriously wealthy and a complete egomaniac!

Why only 87% max charge and not 100% ? and is that 11 hours 30mins remaining charge time from its present 52% charge state??? if so, would a charge from say 10% to full or 87% whatever, take like 20 hours?? or more?

Thought they would be soulless, but after a Sunday in the long range & another Sunday with the performance…. its a mental experience, and would encourage anyone to get a test drive in one 😂 (Now i think there are limitations in place with test drives, there been a few incidents i think)

I am close to a clove of Tesla stores here, not planning on getting one anytime soon.

State of California mandates no ICE cars by 2035, maybe then… or I might move out of state.

Tesla are fast on a straight, not sure if I can do canyon cruises with it.

I see one go round goodwood , the acceleration from standing was ridiculous but it didn’t seem so quick down the straights once it was moving
