    Guys,

A buddy of mine (whose let’s say ‘in the know’ due to his job 😉) says he’s seen several Fiesta STs being stolen by breaking the locks on the boot (rather than the usual drivers side door).

Not sure if this is relevant or applicable to our RS’. Anyone know the reason why this is?

@Stu-c, that sounds very worrying, although I’m not sure which Fiesta ST year models he is referring to. The current Fiesta’s do not have a key locking tailgate.

Found the Fiesta ST Mk6 has key hole locking. Could this be the ST he is referring to?

All good points! I thought he was referring to Mk7 Fiesta ST (as used to have one). My memory obviously shot as it didn’t have a key hole, it was a pressure pad like the RS.

It must have been the Mk6.

Rs has added security built into the boot switch mechanism, you would never know but give it few years and pretty sure you will all find out after awhile that only the key will open the boot.
