well done Benny, sounds like you’ve seen the light and come in from the cold and got a proper car at last! Enjoy! ( I had many saxo vts’s) as was a good little earner back in the day as a car dealer !!

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

Thought I would add to this:

1981 Vauxhall Cavalier Mk2, GLS so it got a rev counter, velour seats and steel sliding sunroof.

1986 Peugeot 309 GL, Fitted the 205 GTI wheels, as you do.

1990 Peugeot 309 GTI, Was a lovely car, sold for a deposit for my first house yes £2000.

1986 Escort XR3I Mk4, Never should have bought it, loads of owners blew the engine up within a week, replaced it and part ex’d it.

1992 Renault 19 16V Chamade, Lovely car, but rubbish build quality head gasket went at around 60k miles then engine blew up a few months later, replaced it then part ex’d it. (owned for about 5 years)

    1999 Vauxhall Astra Sri, Bland.

Then the company car years so started having weekend toys.

1987 Westfield super 7 Ford X Flow. Was the pre-litigation model so aluminium skinned body like the Caterhams, great fun but got bored after 2 years.

1970 VW Beetle. Great on the outside rotten underneath, took it off the road and started restoring it but lost interest and ended up scrapping it.

1966 VW Splitscreen Bus. Owned for 5 years and used it for many VW shows, big engine, lowered and very little rust being a US import.

1986 Ford Escort RS Turbo S1. Had a 1.9L bottom end and 200BHP great fun, owned it about 5 years ago for only 6 months…regret selling it (Yes sold for 6k) as I then got a car allowance instead of a company car and bought….

2012 Vauxhall Astra GTC diesel. Bland and rubbish MPG for a diesel, 19″ wheels and replacement tyres cost nearly £300 each, lasted all of 3 months.

2011 VW Golf GTD. Great car at the time, sold when I changed jobs and back into company cars, so back to weekend cars….

1983 VW Golf GTI Mk1. Great fun completely standard and on 80K miles, sold as I fancied more of a classic.

1973 BMW 2002Tii. Very original and good fun to drive had to go when I decided to go self employed and helped to the fund the present car. funnily had an enquiry out of the blue and sold and shipped to a guy in America sight unseen.

2017 Ford Focus RS. Frozen white, had it a year now and 10,000 miles recently had the FPM375 tune and fitted a Remus exhaust. after a year still loving it and no plans to replace it any time soon, In a couple of years I may get something boring and put the RS into weekend usage but we will see.

And thats it hopefully not too boring.

I also had a 309 GTI purchased new in 1991, great car but build control left a bit to be desired.

    Previous Cars:

    • 2004 – VP Holden Commodore 3.8 Litre S-Pack 5 speed manual
    • 2006 – VZ Holden Ute 3.6 Litre Auto
    • 2008 – Nissan 300 ZX auto 🙁 So many problems with the electronics on this car
    • 2010 – VE Holden Calais 6 Litre V8, Walkinshaw tuned to 245 rwkw with all the works. It was a love hate relationship due to being ridiculously loud due to VCM cold air, pacemaker extractors & twin 3 inch with high flow cats. $4000 sound system. I’ll miss this one with $10,000+ being spent on aftermarket parts. Unfortunately I didn’t even get near close to my asking price of $12,000 sale price. This was my pride and joy for many years and was a monster to control.

    • My current ride is the the much loved Focus Mk3 RS. Defiantly the the smallest yet most fun car I’ve owned 🙂

    Aussie V8 rivalry is dead.
