Well after some advice from DS I went with the yellow spring.

have to say I was surprised by the amount of noise from the recirculation valve. Lots of flutter at low speed and hiss at high RPM, never heard the standard flimsy plastic one at all!

I’m 30 minutes into the update from 3.0 to 3.4 and so far matching the time frames with the YouTube video. Fingers crossed it will all go smoothly and I’ll have the new software up and running in about 15 minutes.

Thanks for the advice so far.

what I’ve taken away is what I was leaning towards which is replace the intake and recirculation valve and leave it at that for the engine, then probably put some EBC breaks on too.

I’ll enjoy knowing I’ve got more out of it than standard and if I want to tinker more in the future I can.

as I said most days it doesn’t get warm before I get to work so no point tuning it into a track day monster for the occasional “long way home”

Thank goodness for that. It was worth almost dropping my phone in the engine bay! I’ve had her almost 2 years now and have always been suspicious about the gasket.

might have to plan a little trip to dreamscience later in the year! (Other tuners are available lol)

Hi, just joining the thread,

mine is a January 2017 on a 66 and I have been unsure which gasket I have. Dealer said no recalls due and no mention of the work being carried out.

had a fight with my phone camera in the engine bay today and managed to take the below picture…

is that the brass ring spoken about and does that mean I have the right gasket?

Had mine off when the bumper was off to replace the air con condenser (and fit a big mouth intake)

the glue was a pain to get off but no issues since it’s removal.

Do I win? I have my NB RS and my wife has a 2013 KA, bottom of the range 1.2 with wind down windows, no central locking and the interior light only comes on when you open the drivers door!

It doesn’t start if the key is outside of the car, makes no difference if it’s in the pouch or not.

as soon as I bring the key in the pouch in the car the engine will start.

not sure if this is normal as I’ve not got another pouch to test.
