Anyone upgraded to the CP420, I’m probably running ~390BHP so for £400 is it worth the upgrade?

Have you spoken to John Moore he did a one while I was getting my discs and pads done,went out with the owner and it was fast that was stage 2 420bhp

A little off topic but still relevant. What is the collins stage 1 like. I was contemplating a stage 1 however I don’t want a huge torque figure and something that would be safe. I don’t particularly want to do a meet and greet with the conrods I had collins on my mk2 and that was awesome

Its not just about the top figure, more the way it drives & features…. see if you can drive someones with it on first maybe or if they have a demo?

The torque over HP is what makes it drive nice the big HP numbers are for little Willy wavers saying look at me

im not saying increase the TQ to excessive levels or you will have a rod and piston coming out party but a good increase is still available and that will make drivability so much better.

im producing over 550tq at 3200 and it drives like factory and it’s ported and cammed and an NX2 turbo, nearly said big turbo, now that would be funny

Just to add to this thread, had the 2.5″ boost pipes fitted last week and now I’m in a position to have the map done, however I’m thrown between the CP420 map or the M400 map, anyone got the M400 map and what’s your thoughts on it. Also 3 of use are going to to Mountune next spring and I’m thinking if I go for the M440 I’ll get it done while I’m there.

If your running 390 now that’s the average the M400 gives you. The best map Mountune have for the Mk3 RS is the FPM375 from their the maps are all downhill.

Mine came with the cp 420 already installed when I bought the car. Does drive nice and progressive with a linear boost curve.

That said I did have a sabre tune on my mk1(switchable maps 360/396bhp) and that was very similar in having a linear boost curve.

If I didn’t already have the cp 420 I would be heading to sabre (8hr round trip).
