Description
Powervalve Exhausts 90mm downpipe and 200 cell road legal sports cat represents the first element in their Ford Focus RS Mk3 program. After a thorough assessment of the OEM design, a stringent development process was undertaken, resulting in a unit manufactured completely from 304 grade stainless steel including the tube, flanges, flex, and clamps. However, crucially the tube specification increased from the stock 70mm diameter to 90mm, including critically the flexible de-coupler. In addition, and after careful consideration the main 200 cell cat was relocated to the underside of the vehicle, dramatically reducing pressure behind the turbo.
To control and eliminate the EML (engine management light) a secondary miniature cat is inserted into the post cat lambda sensor location. Again with total performance in mind, the design is complimented with a 1200 degree rated titanium thermal wrap to maintain the highest possible exhaust gas temperature and the lowest radiated heat signature to promote low under bonnet temperature. With all of the above features in place this unit is guaranteed to provide all of the necessary means for engine tuners to achieve the maximum potential that the 2.3L Ecoboost engine is capable of, along with a superb uplift in sound.
