What are we thinking to the Mountune Phase 2 upgrades?

Anyone going to be buying anything?

I have heard that the standard rods are bending after 400 BHP is attained, not sure now true that is!!

I don’t think their performance package will go beyond 400bhp, unfortunately 🙁

I thought they were already exceeding 400bhp on std rods in USA ?

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

I think they are but regarding longevity and warranty I don’t think Mountune/Ford will push it too far

I think the rear drive unit could be the limiting factor reliability wise at 400/(+)

There are a few RS’s in the UK already runnning 400bhp+ but Fod can’t risk the Mountune upgrades causing big problems so I think they will play it safe at 390bhp. Air filter is giving about 7bhp and exhaust is about the same then along with a map at about 30.

    Hi,

Thanks for raising the question. I’ve been pondering about the upgrades. Initially I am tempted by the air filter but I know it wont make much of a difference without a map. Equally tempted by smaller upgrades like brake hoses and the quick shifter – I know none of these are necessarily needed but tempted nonetheless.

Anyone know what kind of stuff we should be expecting for phase 3?

    Thanks

Anyone had the Mountune logo put on their intercooler in the past. Just wondered life expectancy of the logo before the letters start to wear. Only asking as the logo is noticeable on the Mk3 intercooler

HP alone won’t kill the car. Tq is what will start to strip diffs and gears. Revo are releasing their stage 2 map soon ( i am on the wait list) and its being Beta tested by Rob @ SCC. To be honest  i would be surprised if rods are bending at 400hp. My Mk1 FRS (212hp standard) was running over 300hp and all on standard running gear. did over 40k miles and it didn’t miss a beat. My warranty will be fcuked anyway so I’m not worrying….if it goes bang we simply re build with forged internals….
