    Afternoon guys (and girls).

First timer here. Plenty of info on the site and very informative.

Those of you that have had remaps, which is the best one to go for for extra torque? Don’t want to rag the nuts off the car to get to the power so was looking for advice on the best option.

Are you just running a standard map at the moment Mad Dad?

    Hi Kenny,

Yes standard at the moment, only got 400 miles on the clock, the 66 plate was bought 8 months ago expecting delivery in Jan/Feb, only delivered earlier this month! Should be on a 17 plate but looks ok as is.

@ Mad Dad: “Those of you that have had remaps, which is the best one to go for for extra torque?”

Well I have only one so I cannot compare. It was described by Kenny in an article and very much advocated by Louie Coppellotti who is now the beta tester for the next development. On his advice I had Revo Technik Stage1 installed in February. The added punch is appreciable the very moment you hit the throttle. When before the RS was a bit laggy, say it started to push at 3500 rpm, now it has full torque at 2500 rpm. This is enough to give a Golf R or an A45 AMG a nightmare 😉

Had the Mountune 375 done today and it has really given the RS a new lease of life. Big grins on the drive home 🙂 Just called in at the local Ford dealer on spec to order a kit. In stock, 60 minutes later and a grand lighter, off we go…

I would do the same if any ford dealer within 50 miles actually had any stock,

Thanks for the replys guys, no photos at the moment as only just got the car.

Little bit about myself, had a few fast fords over the years starting with a mk1 escort 1300 gt, xr3i, escort rs turbo series 2, then got into fast bikes, got myself back into fast cars when I bought a focus st a few yrs ago, ended up with intercooler, dump valve, dreamscience remap, cobra exhaust and a cais kit, running about 320hp. Had a couple of years with a Range Rover Sport (don’t ask why) then my son started work at the local ford dealer, they had an Rs demo car, took it for a spin one day and that was it, deposit paid and here I am. Fitted all the options except the seats, £31747 on the road, happy days.

Back to my original post, Revo seems to be the popular option but, for the sake of the warranty (and son getting some discount) I think it will be the mountune 375, for now anyway.

Any meets planed for the south Coast?

If you have used Dreamscience before would you not use them again, I have the imap sitting here waiting to go on, I would have gone down the mountune 375 route due to warranty but I don’t want to wait 6 weeks for it.

i have read good things about this DS map, I’m looking forward to trying it out.

Loads of companies offering different maps, can they all vary that much? Dreamscience was good on my ST, will be interesting to see how you get on with it. Going to order the 375 package Monday, a couple of months getting some more miles on the clock before it arrives to get use to the RS in standard form.

Coming from a guy who lost his engine to torque, i would say do not exceed 55Nm just to be sure it will last, after 60Nm you will lose the car quick, as an alternative you can use forged internals for peace of mind.
