Went for warranty work today,

Had my RS for just over 1 year and sync 3 has always worked without any problems, Today I went to my dealer for warranty work (to replace a broken door protector on front passenger side). Car bought out from workshop, work done away I go, Got in car started the car, No Sync display nothing , dead, went straight back in ,tech tried reset by disconnecting battery, He said “I only removed the door card”, scratching his head. Reversing camera was working when being reversed from the bay I was told, well not anymore but have 1 radio station that’s permanently on now as soon as I start my car. Bloody annoying as it only went in for a door protector . Was told if left for 40 minuets, lock car , walk away might reset, left for 4 hours , nothing just 1 radio station playing, no display, dealer said will call me back in the morning. I think I will call them.

You couldn’t make it up…….

will an update fix this ? Or new unit ? Anyone else had this ?.. weird or what!

Was running sync 2.2 , on 1st service a few weeks ago I had the update for the quite rear speakers , was working fine all the way to the garage today? ,I’m so pi##ed off at the mo, aaaahhhhhhh.

i know it will get fixed but really so annoying ?

Not going in till 16th may as on holiday soon and that’s when a courtesy car is available. They tuned in the radio to capital extra before it came out of the workshop ffs, I wish they would stop changing the bloody station when it goes in ,that’s all I’ve got now, no display, nav ,camera nothing. Can’t even turn radio off , permanently on when car is started.

Have you tried holding down the right arrow button and the power button at the same time for 10 seconds

Mine is due in for the recall work and any ECU/Sync updates on the 16th. It’s exactly this type of thing that makes me worried. Hopefully it all gets sorted @rs-le – keep us posted.

RS been at dealers all day, got a focus auto courtesy car for the day, was ok, apparently the sync 3 module needs replacing, and guess what it’s on back order, 2-12 weeks?,preliminary booked in for 21st June but this could change if part has not arrived . They need the car all day so getting another courtesy car. I think this part is coming from mars with that time scale?

A bit of a joke really..

Update:

Had the sync 3 module replaced, working fine since , was replaced last year lol.

Have had a new problem on going for a few months where the near side rear door does not open after you open the doors with the fob, or keyless entry. ( the door I had the protector replaced ). Even from the inside it won’t budge, also the electric window doesn’t operate, This happens 5 out of 10 car unlocks.

Just had my 2nd service and mentioned it, it was looked at by the tech, there is an issue with the loom that goes through that door, so booked in again after Easter for a 1 to 2 day tear down to be investigated ?

All the above after a door protector replacement last year… unbelievable ay ☹️

One plus got the keyless entry switched off . ( no charge) never worked properly anyway lol ——?

Last thing, on double locking the doors am I going mad or do the hazards flash on 2nd press, well they don’t anymore since service ?

She’s running well though ha?

@Rs-le I have had the keyless switched off and mine definitely flashes on the second press of the fob when locking. Hope this helps, any questions let me know. Cheers Red

Update:

Car been at dealers for a couple days, picked her up today, all good now, tech found loom that goes into nearside rear door the connector had corroded so much that the connectors had broke away causing the fault, a new door loom & plug was replaced under warranty , problem now solved. I was shown a photo of the connector and it was in a right state tbh, I’ve had no leaks in the cabin at all & I’m wondering how water got to that plug inside the door ?

indicators now working when locking & unlocking the RS & rear door issue sorted.?

Had a fiesta st-line courtesy car, was ok but glad I’m back in the RS ????
