WET Carbon Fiber – This product is manufactured “Wet” using 3K, 2×2 Twill Weave Carbon Fiber and Anderson Composites proprietary vacuum infusion process. The industry calls this process “Wet” because the resin is introduced into the mold as a liquid; this process produces a high gloss, wet-look shiny finish. It is highly recommended to use an automotive clear with UV inhibitors to prolong the life and finish of the product.

Still won’t look as good as pre preg carbon parts when it comes to the straightness of the twill. It also make no difference if you use wet lay up or pre preg if you want a high gloss finish. If the mould is dull so will your part.

Vacuum or resin infusion should be no different to prepreg with the twill, completely depends on the laminator.  Vacuum Infusion is a better manuf route for making the panels better to paint with less print through.  Surface finish is dictated by the mould as you say, but could be lacquered if you were not painting them.

If you use a high quality pre preg like HQ50 for clear carbon parts the twill is general alot straighter than you could get with wet lay. If you want a perfectly straight twill on a high vis carbon part I would use pre preg. Wet lay is cheap and cheerful
