Alternative wheel nuts

I fitted the black ones yesterday & while I had the locking nuts off I painted the with gloss black spray paint I had,I gave them a few coats during the day before fitting them.

Not saying those are dangerous, but the OEM nuts are 28mm across. These are only 22mm. So the bearing area is considerably less meaning the stresses on the wheel holes will be much higher. I wouldn’t fit them myself.

It’s also an acorn buldge type compared to the standard acorn type lugnut.

Nicklulu these nuts of yours do look a Very small bulge in the photos.
let’s keep this simple.
they are either 22mm or not.

If they are really 22 Then they have around 60% less contact area Than standard and there’s worse.
the area missing is over the fatter part of the thickness of the wheel.
I’m a risk taker But I would not use these so let’s hope that they are way over 22mm.

I’m sure the OE would be wider but not as wide 28mm as the diameter on the OE also include the sleeve and not the mating surface.
