Is it extra pressure in the wet to open up the tread

Less pressure in the dry so that the heat generated pushes up the pressure to correct amount

My mate came up with some advice for me.

He knows I’m lazy and like automatics.

He said leave it in third , and fourth for the main straight.

Sounds easy?
