Last december I installed a dashcam in my RS: the BlackVue DR650S-2CH (https://mk3focusrs.club/forum/topic/can-any1-recommend-a-dash-cam/).

Last friday night I happened to witness a car crash where the car in front of me crossed a red light before hitting another car. Fortunately, nobody was injured due to the low speed. At home I wondered whether my camera had recorded the scene – it had. So I saved the relevant clip since the camera overwrites the micro-SD card every 6 hours.

The next day I called the police to ask whether such a video was of any use in the case. They were indeed very interested.

Today the police officer in charge rang me up and we met. He interrogated me properly as third party key witness with written and signed protocol. Eventually,  we looked at the video and I saw a big smile appearing on his face. He said, with my record the case had become as plain as pikestaff.

He also explained that crossing red lights is always a problem because people either lie, don’t remember or keep silent about it. Collecting objective evidence is sometimes hard causing a lot of effort, costs and trials for all involved parties.

This post is now open for discussion.

I’ve just had the “Nextbase 412” fitted by Halfords. Lovely job, hard wired and with all wires hidden; very pleased.

I had the BlackVue DR650S-2CH  fitted. Good piece of kit, although the Android app is somewhat unreliable.

Let’s not forget though, that this video footage can be used against you in the event of a ‘incident’ if you are at fault.

I installed a 128 Gb card to add more recording time.

I wonder if the Covid got him or had an accident or something?? I really hope NOT !

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?
