Honestly telling, it’s like fighting a battle. I hardly figured out how to import pst to thunderbird using Outlook and Thunderbird. The steps are all confusing and frustrating. Ultimately, you have to download some other utility tool like ImportexportTools NG.

I would rather advise to use a converter software for that. I used WebbyAcad PST to MBOX converter software and literally it was very simple and easy. Just browse your PST file in it, choose MBOX as an option to export and within minutes your MBOX files would be with you.
