I’d consider removing all the mods and reducing the asking price then sell mods separately on here and other forums.
The mods you have made are fantastic im sure but they do not add any value at all and may only appeal to those in the know but scare off a newby.
Alternative view…….
New owner thinks they have bought a standard RS instead of a lovely condition and well modded one that was running significant horsepower / torque for a lot of miles.
credit to kld47 for advertising car with mods, this is honest and accurate and new owner will be happy with what they are purchasing
On pistonheads there is an interesting thread about a Audi R8 bought for over £80,000
New owner was not aware it was modified then returned to standard and sold. Gearbox gave up and was quoted £30,000 to repair ( aware specialist may be better value) only found out when gearbox ECU interrogated.
Would not have bought if new it was modded previously.
May the Ford be with you
I could be wrong @Kid47 but that mod list together with the miles is going to put most off.

100% pictures. Car sounds mega. Good luck with the sale

Wow, nice to see one with some mileage on still kicking it ! original head and block? has the engine been strengthened/uprated to suit the 430BHP? Back in my day you would see a lot of Escort Mexicos and RS1600s and Twincams all kitted out with rally mods and various stages of tune. Initially a car with loads of bits was seen as a good thing as it saved you buying bits and doing it yourself, so a modded car could bring a premium value over a std car. Now it seems folk want a car as it came out of the factory and then choose/pay for the bits they want to add. If you were to take all the bits off and sell them separately, how much time, effort and bother is all that? and how much would you sell the bits for?.. not much I would guess, I think the car is a £19995 car with that mileage, with or without all the extras. Drop it to £24995 and see if you get an offer. But hey, what do I know? I was only a car dealer for 30 years! I COULD be wrong innit.
No nothing.
No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.
No tackiness.
Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.
Innit?
Didn’t know you where Honest Mike the dodgy dealer in a previous life BDA!.
Did you have a Sheepskin and striped whistle?.

yes Dave, after a brief spell in a drawing office, then a mechanic, then selling new Fords (’86-’88) I noticed that the car traders who were coming in and taking all the part exchanges were all wearing Rolexs, had flash new mobile phone gadgets and were making more money on one car than I was in commission selling 4 new cars ! So off i went with a Glass’s Guide subscription..

@Kld47 Wow £30k for a 16 plate with 77k on the clock!
I’m currently advertising my 17 plate with 23k on the clock and it’s in immaculate condition and stock for £30k so best of luck selling yours.
Even though you spent hundreds / thousands on those mods you will be unlikely to get your money back them and the more you mod the more you reduce your audience as its not always everyone’s cuppa tea.
Been advertising it for a couple of months now but there are far too many MK3 RS for sale at the mo so prices are being hit hard. Just got to look at Autotrader.
Good luck though mate selling yours 🙂
Got to agree with you supply and demand, abundance of cars = low price more choice makes selling a high mileage car harder as there are many cars with low miles some under 10000 miles.
