Just a quick one – been looking at various air filter replacements and wanted to know if the different designs make any difference at all?
First you have the Mountune air filter with the open end on it
mountune V2 High Flow Air Filter
Then you have the K&N filter with a closed cap on it…

And finally another version of the K&N with a removable cap (albeit a small hole)
K&N 57S Style Replacement Filter – Focus RS Mk3
Do these all basically do the same job? Which is recommended?

No difference, they all will do the same job.

The mountune filter is a K&N they come with the end cap and you simply remove if you want to, know it’s K&N as you get a free sticker lol
Only know as watched my FPM 375 kit fitted at my dealers

Yes they all filter air in the same way.
The ones with the holes in, these have more surface area to filter the air. The more surface area more BHP the engine can run as it’s getting more air.
