I get what your saying, and I get no pleasure from driving in London or the expanse around London that goes on and on. That’s why I live in the North were its a bit more enjoyable, if I go to London now the preferable transport is public.

coast , I think I need a long road trip up North or possibly a track day in it or a trip down the German autobahns and into Austria and Switzerland to really enjoy the cars potential !

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

Evening mate!! Your right about us living in rural areas. As you know I’m in the Highlands of Scotland, I get up in the morning and drive out the village then I can pretty much head in any direction I like!! The roads are great, the countryside is great and the RS is right at home up here. I’ve had it for 21 months now and I’m away Offshore for half that time, so in 10 and a half months I’ve clocked up 21,500 miles, and most of them have been FLAT OUT!! ??..!!

I couldn’t handle living in a big city or heavily populated area, roads always congested and every C**T just getting in your way!! Haha!! You wanna get yourself up the Highlands mate!! ??.

    Cheers, Marc.

Hi Marc, I have not driven up there since Sept 1987 !! drove through Wales, up past Lake District and then up the road past Fort William and on up to John o groats and Thurso with a stop on the way up to a little hospital in Wick I think it was for the girlfriend who had severe food poisoning from soused herring in the  Hotel the night before, god she was rough ! ( mouth full of white ulcers and in severe pain) not ugly rough lol !!  The Escort didna miss a beat fortunately (or get stolen) theres no way I would consider that trip in it now! And she recovered too…

So I am revisiting this again and the car has now done a shade over 2000 miles. I changed my mind for a time but recent events have made me think it is time I sold it. Looking around there are 3 on eBay between £37.5k and £38.5k, RS Direct have no Red ones nor do Furgusons. What do you all think is a realistic price to ask for it? Dealer offers are not that great, they want to make too much on a car that they will have no comeback on as it has a 5 year warranty and is only 8 months old 🙁

    Cheers

Perkins Ford Essex have a Red Edition for £36495. Private sale IMO you could ask £36k and accept £35k.  RS direct are possible the most expensive second hand priced cars. Have you a price in mind?

Yeah I was thinking about the same to be honest. As I’ve said before I’d rather sell to a dealer as generally less hassle but I will see if there is any interest here first I guess??

For what it’s worth I think you still haven’t been clear about wanting to sell or not. First you were thinking about it subject to price, then you went away, then you came back, now you’re not sure how much, but you might go for mid-thirties, might sell to a dealer, and so on….. Difficult for anyone to take you seriously. Make your mind up. If you’re not sure, then don’t waste your time and that of others.

It’s for sale end of. My comment about a dealer was purely about available finance, tyre kicking and having multiple test pilots arriving at my house/work/place of my choice all expecting to go out for a drive giving it large!!Apologies if it came across differently to this ???

    Cheers
