Someone decided to have a BBQ…. from the engine bay!

Hi @bobcat, yes engine fire.
It had a split injector pipe, so when I turned it over in the morning it was spewing out fuel as I was trying to start it!!
I looked up to see the flames and jumped out but forgot to take the keys out the car that had my house keys on so couldn’t get in the house to phone the fire brigade.
Tried next door and they didn’t have a phone, not like now where everyone was has a mobile phone and would be filming it burning 😆
Good thing was I had an agreed valuation with the RSOC.

I bought them brand new boxed as the final run models were supplied with them, and the owner put some other wheels on his car I gave them away or to be more accurate they were included in the sale of the car £25500 I got for a mint 8500 mile car, 5.5 years old so 2015. what would it be worth now with circa 20,000 miles probably more than my MK3. I should have kept it and not bought the Yaris.

@bobcat no it was written off and I was paid out an agreed value.
RS cars took a backseat while we was bringing up kids and house moves.
I bought my mk3 RS 6 years ago.
I have always been a fan of RS cars nothing else I really wanted. I was always disappointed when the mk1 RS focus came out and it was front wheel drive, when the other manufacturers in the rally world were bringing out cars with 4 wheel drive and hoped Ford would see sense with the mk2 RS focus but to no avail.
Glad when Ford did bring out the mk3RS focus with awd but then they weren’t rallying one so that took the shine off a little but only a little 😆
I don’t get the hype for 2 door cars when some of the best rally cars had four doors. I love it and all the RS cars before it, if I could have my pick it would be big wing mk1 RS1600.

Decisions decision if only we had insight into the future 🤔 certainly a terrific wedding car, I hope the chauffeur was up to the job😆
