might take it  to the wheel specialist near me, are they likely to be able to  do any thing to repair it rather than re doing whole wheel ?

Try Halfords satin black touch up – I saw it recommended on another site and it seems to have worked well.

I spoke to the wheel specialist , as i suspected they will only do the whole wheel, they dont do “smart repairs”,

its bloody annoying because it stands out like a sore thumb 🙁

Hi robroy,  Try Scuffsandchipspro on ebay. He supplied me with the standard silver touch up for the standard RS wheels and it’s a very good match. I had a couple of stone chips as well.

Try this link for starters. If you email him he may be be able to confirm it’s suitable for a Mk3 RS.

Sharpie permanent marker covered it up. Not a good match but takes the eye off it

Not keen on the idea of a felt tip pen , went in to Ford today they don’t do touch up paint for wheels waiting on an answer from scuffsandchipspro, I Will take a look at the Halfords suggestion too ?

Brake dust will cover that up nicely.  I find my car is excellent at turning brake pads into dust.  I think it’s all the weight. The car’s, not mine (ahem).

Satin black nail varnish? Might sound stupid (maybe it is) but that’s what a local bike shop advised for chips on my mountain bike.

Got sent this from Scuffsandchipspro, which one do you think it would be ….

    Hi there

Apologies for the delayed reply! I can certainly supply the paint for you! I just need to check one thing!

Ford do two black alloy paints – one has very tiny metallic specs in. The other is just a straight black!

Can you confirm which suits your alloys and then i can supply the paint with the satin lacquer!

    Many thanks

Halfords satin black is a very good match. I have done it on one wheel and it’s difficult to see.
