ST Suspensions, have released their first RS Focus upgrade with a little help from a well known face in the Ford community, Mr Ken Block. Armed with one of the main men that helped design the Focus RS dynamic handling characteristics in the first place ST set about developing a uprated spring that would give a sportier edge to the Mk3 RS.
There is no doubting the new Focus RS’s handling ability but that doesn’t mean there are not a few tweaks we can make to the car to give it not only better performance but a better appearance.
These new progressive lowering spring by ST Suspensions lowers the car by 20mm front and rear giving the car a lower sportier looks while still maintaining a comfortable ride. The lower ride height and stiffer springs improves the handling cross all driving modes (Normal, Sport, Track and Drift). The turn in is more precise and less bodyroll gives you more confidence in the corners.
We know anything Ken Block puts his name has to be exceptional quality so the ST springs are just that – manufactured from chrome-silicon steel in cold-winding process they are multiple coated and even have a final epoxide coating to help withstand the elements and give them a long lasting life.
ST Suspensions are not stopping there with the Focus RS Mk3 development as they are currently testing different suspension applications including the adjustable ST XTA coilover kit with aluminum Unibal top mounts. Also soon to be released is the ST DZX wheel spacers so keep your eyes out for the updates on them.
