    Hi, Christian from Switzerland here.

Just got my 2016 RS since 2 weeks and i love it.
Need to get used to it, but it puts a smile on my face every time i drive. 🙂

I need to get it serviced in a month, but i cant find anything about maintenance schedule / time / kilometers, etc
All i know is that service is once a year or 20’000 km.

I do many things myself and the garage where i go is no Ford… Plus the car is out of warranty.

So i hope to find the maintenance plan here somewhere.

    Cheers!

Hi and welcome. Well done on your purchase, lovely looking RS.

Do you have any service history, as to know what has already been done on previous services?

Hi and welcome, it would be useful to know service history in order to give you a proper answer. I do hope its included with the car, or a link to it.

    Hello,

Thank you all for you warm welcome. 🙂

Yes i have the service book. It’s complete, with the dates/times of the services.
I also asked for the history at the Ford’s garage, and they also have all in their system.

Thanks bobcat for the links. (which are detailled and pretty nice to have, instantly saved the PDFs)
I already had the RS manual supplement, but in german….

I readed accross the docs quickly (at work right now) but it does not seem to contain what i’m searching.

I’m used to my previous car (a VW) where in the service book there is a sheet saying:
oil change: every year or 15’000km
spark plug: every 60’000km or X years
    haldex service: every 30’000km
    brake fluid: bla bla
    etc

    Thanks again and happy driving!

My experience after 6 years of ownership. These are the Ford recommended timelines in my area

    • Normal usage: OIL every 15000 KM or 12 months, whichever comes first.
    • Track usage more frequent and can go down to 3000 km if pushed moderately.
    • Brake Fluid – every 2 years under normal conditions. Track usage might require a sync with the pads and rotors.
    • 4WD – trackdays every 2 days if driven hard. Normal usage no regular change interval as this is lifetime. I changed it 3 times since I have the car as I also track it.
    • Gearbox – depends on the applicablitiy of the car. Track usage will dicate a more frequent interval.
    • Sparkplugs every 60K under normal conditions. If tune and trackdays every 30k.

    Thanks for the details.

That’s pretty much what i expected.
This means i will change the spark plugs at next service.
I will not track the car and drive about 13kkm a year. (by the way, the car has now 78’000 km)

Did you already serviced the gearbox’s oil?
    Also power distribution unit?

I was thinking to do the gearbox on mine as sometimes shifts are less smooth..

I have serviced the gearbox oil twice since I have the car.
I also serviced the power distribution unit at the same time with the 4WD so 3 times in total.
Regarding gear shifts, oil and an alignment helps to make it smoother but you need to be aware that the RS will never be super smooth.
I had the car since new and second gear has always been a pain until it warms up. I also noticed that if you shift 1st and 2nd above 2500 it is way smoother than at 2000 on my car.
