….It was like spreading lard all over it. The beading is incredible but I’m probably going to spend the next month tying to polish it in. I’m out of my depth, I’d love some suggestions.

Less is more. Use a little bit at a time and spread it thinly and it should come off no problem. Usually a soft wax is a good place to start if your new to detailing.

AM glaze is an easy product ( good value to) to use, followed by the AM sealant.

Clay bar it first to pull off any contaminants . Mark any swirls or scratches with a piece of masking tape and go back and nibb em off , use whatever you feel good at using as everyone has their own favourite cutting base . If you are putting a true wax on like say zymol glasur ( it’s good ) then a pea size amount warmed on you hand would do at least a panel possibly more and leave for a good half hour before taking off . Mate used half a pot on his new car and wondered why he couldn’t get it off

@ Howsey  Ive used half a pot on the mrs before..

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

“After trying hard waxing on my car, I have to say the results are fantastic! It’s a bit of work, but the shine and protection it gives are worth it. I actually learned the best tips from a local family business that specializes in car care—they know all the tricks for getting that showroom finish. If you’re into detailed work like this, especially for something like maintaining your car before a bet cast or an event, it’s definitely worth the effort to use quality products and techniques!”

    It is a time consuming job, de-tar / T-cut / polish / hard-wax.

Did my RS about 4yrs ago and agreed hard wax gives a lovely finish, when I wash the car it is just water on the body and a little detergent on the wheels. People don’t believe me when I tell um, just water🤣

Job for next spring to redo it over again.

Art for hardwax is warm but not sunny day and only apply to a small area then buff it up with clean cloth, even a yr later I would spot an area where hardwax was thick 🫢

I used about half a tin on RS.

    Or do naff all.
    saves a load of time.
Then get a quick machine polish

    when it’s time for sale.

now stone chips, that is worth doing.

Just pay a grand or so for a decon, polish and good 9 year ceramic coating and be done.

Washing is a breeze for many years once you do this.

Often only needs a snow foam and wipedown or ONR rinsless – dead easy.

Just need to recoat wheels every couple of years – no more harsh wheel cleaners or brushes, just regularly pressure wash to rinse out the grime.
