    Hi guys.

AFS works well for a while after starting a engine, but sometimes headlight direction doesn’t follow a steering.

I have got that stopping a car fixes the function, but I haven’t got what cause is.

Guys, do you have any information about this?

The RS does not have adaptive steering, it has a fixed ratio normal steering rack if thats what you mean?  the only other AFS with Ford is the active front steering lock, where the steering column has a steering lock that fires a pin into the centre shaft to lock the steering wheel in straight ahead position when engine is switched off on cars that do not have a normal steering lock and key, (like the RS push button start)

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

No. I don’t mean about steering ratio.

I mean Adaptive (or Advanced) Front-lighting system.

Taro, you need to have the lights ON, not the daylight runners that come on.

On my car the light only follows the steering in Auto light mode and not at all in regular on mode for the lights.

Someone else that have it like that or do I have a bug in the lighting system?

Taro I think maybe you will find it is speed related and how much steering angle you have on, I only notice the headlamps moving when going slowly round tight bends/ parking etc .

71-bda, speed and bend angle may be related as you say.

But, I watched other recordings, headlight beam didn’t move on low speed and tight bending.

Anyway, I’m going to wait and see.

    Thanks.

    I drove to check.

Under normal condition, the headlight beam seems to move regardless of the speed.

In this time, it didn’t become wrong. I couldn’t find out the cause after all.

I didn’t even realize the car had this! Never use auto mode! I always thought from seeing other cars that it just turned off or on a fog light. Never realized there was a separate bulb in the headlight.

took over two years with the car to realize this ?? everyday is a school day!

I have the switch on auto now and that’s where it will stay!
