I have noticed over the last couple of months that while I have been stuck in the usual morning evening traffic then want to give the beast a few beans the car lacks the normal power. The only thing I can put this down to is the car getting to hot under the bonnet and sucking in the horrid hot air. If I am moving the car is perfect…. Could it be time to think of vents….? Anyone else having the same issue…?

Interesting Simon, and i was waiting to see if this issue materialised. I am getting an A/S induction kit fitted next week which has a Powder coated alloy heat-shield with 80mm cold feed pipe which directs air to bottom of filter. So be interesting to see if this helps reduce `heat soak. I like the idea of bonnet vents though but what ones to go for????

Let us know how you get on with the induction kit. To date I have not seen any vents that look right on the RS. The last thing I want is it to look like a Halfords stick on job.

    Just seen these http://www.maxtondesign.nl/product/focus-mk3-fl-2014—up/bonnet-vents-ford-focus-3-rs.html

My only concern is how the finish is to the underside of the bonnet once fitted.

If you still have the sound protector fitted (Mines been removed to allow more induction roar to be heard in the cabin) then the protector will simply be cut to the same size as the vents…..Simples 🙂
