Anyone heard of a regeneration of a car battery, they are trying this on Wednesday and if it doesn’t work they will replace the battery…..

yer, they just give it a good hard charge and then a long trickle charge, helps if the battery has stood unused for a while, you need to buy a ctek 5.0 and use it if the car is not a daily.

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

@Smoking joe as bda says ctec is the way, on mine it also has a recondition mode which does what your having done..

If you want to keep an eye on the charger get a VictronConnect model which does the same but connects to an app on your phone, I use this one for the RS, and it also has recondition mode….
think they were same price, purchased from Supac batteries ??

@Smoking Joe only get the one or the other… the victron type has the connect app.. Mine sits for 6 days a week, i just connect for 1 week a month and it keeps on top of it. Short runs kill batteries, especially with heated screen on, heated seats etc….

you can tell when the battery is not fully up because the stop/start does not work even at the end of a fairly long journey !

Gone out this morning to find a flat battery on the RS. Pissed right off but my own fault, car not used regularly and I don’t have a smart charger. Hopefully the battery will be OK after a charge.

@Paul what a right pain, hopefully the battery will recover after a recharge. I find one of the early signs of the battery needing a little charge is the Stop/start system stops working. Fingers crossed for you.

Don’t forget Chargers don’t get noticed by the BMS, so if you fully charge a battery, switch ignition on (don’t start it), press the rear fog five times (will remain on), press hazzard lights three times (will remain flashing), watch for the battery light on the Instrument panel to flash, switch off and then should be business as usual.
