    Hi,

just want to show you some pics and infos from my cars life with an detailing maniac 🙂

Collected the car in April 17, build date is feb 17.

Packed my bag with some tuff for collection day

    Love at first sight !

And it fitted in the driveway with one wheel in the air xD

And the first mod was a KN Air filter.

After some driving the first days it was time for his first wash.

    Love the colour

Next little mod was a short shifter wich is in my opinion a must have for the RS

And the typical RS starter sticker kit 😀

Paint is covered with some Car Pro Reload. Lovely stuff !

A few weeks later it was time get the car covered in Ceramic coatings !

As iam i lazy guy i put the car on the Lift an started to remove some Plastic parts to cover them with Gtechniq C4

    before

    and after !

    Foglight surrounds

    The rear diffusor

    The super messy window trims..

    Those parts too…

    The wiper arms

    And the wiper blades

And those little things at the rear arch.

And finally the bottle was finally empty 😀

Next on the agenda where the wheels, brakes and exhaust with Gtechniq C5

    Wheels done

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7bU5ENqvo8&feature=youtu.be

    Polished the brake calipers

and also coated them with C5

    And the exhaust tips too!

    Added some Osram Diadem indicators

Some Powerflex bushings for the lower engine mount

    back in the car.

And cut those horible things on my wheels !! xD

Nice ! But I  like the knobbly bits on the tyres, its “newness” !!

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

Thank you guys! Good point with the “newness” 😀  I will keep you updated with the rubbers. But as the weather is a Real PITA i dont drive the Car much and so there is no need for a wash. On friday i go to the Nürburgring and make it dirty 😀

    Well…. some news here:

    After some

    I recieved this:

    Remus Catback Exhaust…..

So without messing around 5 hours after the delivery of the Remus i put my RS on the lift.

10 min later tho stock box was gone.

    And its done xD

And just like Fredeng said: Remus deliverd! OMG

1 day later we started in our holiday in the alps. After the first 200 Autobahn km the Exhaust got a nice golden touch.

Just a Little Vid from the GroßGlockner Hochalpenstrasse.

We had a great week there and the RS is great for traveling.

The Remus is insane those Vids dont do it justice.

On Friday i can make a update from the coated rubber parts.

    Hi,

Over the last weeks i had enough time to work on my Car. First Thing was the shitty bootlight. Added a second one and replaced them with LEDs

    Stock

    With one led

    And done

Those mats were a christmas present

After some Details it was time to take care of the Paint.

    Started with claying

But as expected there wasnt much on the Paint. So next Step was some Light polishing.
I used my rupes 15 with a Light cutting Pad and some meguiars #205

I started with some small areas to apply some vinyls

    Rear bumper

    The front

    And one on the side

And finished. The Lift isnt fully lowered so the car looks even higher

After the vinyls i masked the car to complete polishing

The car was already i a very good condition so no major defects. Just light scratches and some light swirls here and there

The b-pillar covers where pretty Bad like always

Better but not perfect… Polished with my rupes Mini a soft Pad and some meguiars #205
    And we move on……

    Polishing all day long.

Still with Rupes 15, light cutting Pad and Megiuars #205

    Just awesome this colour

    searching for defects…

But i found a stoneship in the rear door passenger side (UK driver side)

THose tight areas were attacked with my Rupes Ibrid

    Awesome Tools

    We are getting there

Some tiny defects in the boot

    Also polished with the Ibrid

    Finally a little 50/50

    Rear lights

    And sorted

The sun was having a look too

After all the polishing work i removed any residue with CarPro Eraser to get the paint prepped for the coating.

I also managed to make a small video.

    https://youtu.be/hs_EpcMWp8c

The coating darkens those parts  :nice:

    Thats it for today

    more to come soon

    Iam not done yet 😉

Some great detailing going on there – top work!

I never get tired of seeing the NB – I see it on the drive day in and day out, but it’s such a superb colour.

Quick question: were those alloys on the options list?  I don’t remember seeing them on the options list in the UK.  I have the same design finished in silver.

In Germany those alloys are Part of the Performance Pack 1. Pack 2  are the forged alloys. Cant wait to drive it again on march 1st. On march 5th the car is booked in for the recall and its first Service.

    This is the last part.

Ive completed the paint coating and did some other stuff.

I´ve coated the rubber trim too

    Done with the exterior

    Next up Interior and windos

Cleaned the windows inside out and the rest of the interior.

Then it was time for the new floor mats.

Few days later the was really some sunlight! Time for some pics.

    Thats it for now.

In march the car gets its first service and after that i think i will get it lowered.

Not if only on springs or the KW DDC Coilovers wich are a bit expensive…

    So long time no updates….

A lot done to the car.

In March 2018 the car went in for its headgasket recall.

To make sure the paint wont get damaged i did this:

Just startet to masked every area that i thought the mechanic could touch during the recall work :wink-new:

They gave me a hyundai i30 wich wasnt to bad.

The recall went absolutly flawless, they just changed the gasket

On my way home the car hit 10000 Kilometers wich is around 6214 miles

Usually i dont drive the car in the wet…. but i was already filthy from its stay at Ford so…

    Time to check the beading

Then it was finally time to lower the car with the Eibach springs.

    before

    and after !

Also installed some spacers. Just 9mm per wheel, didnt want to much.

Installation of the springs was super easy. It took us 2 hours without any stress.

The picture is from April 2018… The rear springs settled a bit more in the last months.

Then some more small changes…. replaced the hoses…. changed the recirc valve to a Mountune one….. and installed the mountune SSC…. both parts where a huge PITA to fit…

Then i removed the for me useless rear wiper.

Went to the German TÃœV with my car to make springs and spacers legal…

Oh and finally after 18 years of driving i managed to curb a wheel…

A few weeks later the lovely Ford Performance gear knob showed up.
