    Hello again all,

Firstly I wanted to say thanks for all the help I’ve received over the past few weeks from members on here. Much appreciated.

So I’ve got my deposit down on a 66 plate nitrous blue RS and collect it on Monday. Car has low mileage – 11k, sync 3, Lux pack, forged 19’s and recaro shell seats. Exactly the spec I was after. Looks very well presented and has been serviced, MOT’d and detailed prior to collection.

Flying down to Birmingham from Edinburgh then a long 5hrs 30min drive home. Can’t wait though!

I’m sure I’ll have a write up as to initial thoughts/early driving experiences!

    Thanks again, Neil

Best part of picking up a new car is the drive home, sounds like you will get a great bonding session with it!! We all await pics.

    Nice one Neil,

Enjoy the drive home, once you get past say either Scotch Corner (M1) or past say Blackpool (M6), the traffic and roads open up.

I did the same thing. I’m in Birmingham and got mine from Yorkshire. Still remember all the looks from other drivers on the way back, my lad started counting them!

If you don’t mind me asking, where you collecting from down here?

    Stu,

I’m collecting from Jon Kirkham specialist cars. All the reviews seem very positive, they have put another years MOT on the car on Thursday, serviced it on Friday  including spark plugs and brake fluid change.

When speaking with a chap called Andy, that works there, they came across very knowledgeable,h and all of their stock looked very high end with some other tasty bits of metal!

Car is also being detailed prior to collection although it looks as though it has already been very well prepped in the 89 (yes 89!!) photos included in the add.

They have paid for my flight to Birmingham and train from Birmingham to Stourbridge and have promised that if there is anything I’m not happy about with the car they will pay for my flight back to Edinburgh. Can’t ask for anymore than that!

    Thanks Neil

    Hi Neil,

I literally live 2 miles from JK cars. I know Andy. I almost bought a NB from them about 15 months ago.

They don’t have crap cars there so I’m sure you will be fine.

Say hi to Andy for me, tell him you spoke with Stu Checketts. He’ll probably remember me as I’ve dropped in a couple of times since to get some info on FPM375.

Good luck and let me know how you get on.

Did I recommend them to you recently? I know I did to someone but can’t recall if it was you. If it was then tell Andy he owes me a pint.

    Stu,

Just seen this now, never got a chance to name drop you to Andy although it wasn’t me that got the recommendation I don’t think!

Great experience with JK specialists, would highly recommend them. Andy was a proper gentleman and a true car bloke. Made sure everything was perfect. The car was better prepared than I could have imagined. The best example of a three year old car I have ever seen. The photos didn’t do it justice.

Drive home was excellent apart from the traffic on the M6 at Liverpool/Manchester. Car never missed a beat, took around 6 hours in total although I did take a little detour for a blast on a B road close to home!

Got a little wave from a fellow nitrous blue owner with an RS private plate. Somewhere on the M6 around Lancaster way I think!

Will get some pics up soon once the car has been washed after a 250 mile journey! Tucked away in the garage for now.

    Thanks, Neil
